Thousands of people took to the streets of Palamu on June 7, 2026 under the banner of CPI(ML) Liberation to protest against the heinous murder that took place on May 23 at Rampur village under Chainpur block in the Garhwa-Palamu region.
The protesters demanded the immediate arrest of all accused in the Rampur murder case, an end to the feudal domination prevailing in the area, and action against the alleged nexus between the police-administration and feudal forces. Despite several attempts by the administration to obstruct the programme, people joined the march and public meeting in large numbers and raised a powerful demand for justice.
Addressing the gathering, CPI(ML) MLA Arup Chatterjee said the administration must act impartially and swiftly and ensure the arrest of all accused without delay. They also demanded a review of all licensed weapons issued in Rampur village.
He added that the atmosphere of feudal terror, domination and fear in the region cannot be accepted under any circumstances. The struggle will continue until the guilty are arrested, justice is delivered to the victim’s family and feudal oppression in the area is brought to an end.
