AISA is a revolutionary democratic student organisation. Building broad-based student movement, comprising all the democratic trends of student community revolutionary, left, liberal and academic etc. for thoroughgoing democratisation of campus life and right to pro-people, scientific education and employment. AISA is committed to organise student community as an important segment of the movement to radically transform the Indian society.
AISA derives its orientation from the progressive ideologies of democratic movement. AISA recognises Marxism as the science of revolutionary change and human emancipation. AISA stands for creative assimilation and popular propagation of the scientific ideology, democratic culture and modern thought combating reactionary ideological and cultural values of all hues and shades.
AISA lays special emphasis on the unity of student movement with the struggle of working people particularly with revolutionary peasant struggles.
AISA most resolutely fights against all sorts of reactionary organisations and self-styled lumpen student leaders in student movement.
AISA resolves to fight against the internal backwardness and external dependence of our country which provides fertile ground for revivalism, medieval barbarism, casteist frenzy and communal fanaticism in different spheres of life and poses a real threat of still bigger erosion in our sovereignty, thus reducing the country to neo-colonial status.
AISA is committed to the cause of national sovereignty and revolutionary democracy. AISA joins hands with anti-imperialist struggle of the Third World people and democratic struggle of the people within imperialist countries itself. As a leading constituent of the Asia-Pacific Students Association (ASA), the anti-imperialist democratic platform of Asia-Pacific students,
AISA strives for the friendship and unity of the people of South Asia region and to build their solidarity against imperialism.
Basic Programme
1. For overthrowing the present colonial educational system and for establishing a mass oriented scientific pro-people education system.
2. For total democratisation of education system on the basis of campus autonomy.
3. For guarantee of right to employment as fundamental right.
4. For building a progressive democratic cultural movement for developing the human values, putting an end to the present creed of perverted feudal, imperialist and bourgeois culture prevailing in our society.
5. For revolutionary social change and national liberation from all sorts of imperialist clutches joining hands with the struggle of working class and peasantry.
