Dipankar Bhattacharya Visits Jantar Mantar, Congratulates Student-Youth Movement on Historic Victory

CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya visited Jantar Mantar on July 25 and congratulated CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke, AISA leaders Neha, Danish, Anjali and other representatives of the movement on its historic victory.

He congratulated the entire Gen Z and student-youth community for standing up against the brutal crackdown of the Modi-Shah regime, breaking through the barriers of police repression and intimidation, and building a historic movement that compelled the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

In a video statement released later, CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said that the courage, creativity, unity and determination displayed by young people had strengthened the struggle for accountability, justice and education for all. He said that the movement had re-energised struggles across the country for democracy, justice and the defence of the Constitution.

He said that students and young people had faced large-scale repression, with fabricated cases registered against them across several NDA-ruled states, including Bihar and West Bengal. The government must honour its commitments, immediately withdraw all fabricated cases and end the persecution of students and youth activists.

Calling upon the INDIA alliance to carry the energy, resolve and democratic spirit of this movement into Parliament, Dipankar Bhattacharya urged intensified efforts for affordable, inclusive and quality education for all.

He reiterated that the struggle for education justice will continue with the demands to end the privatisation of education, disband the corruption-ridden National Testing Agency (NTA), and establish a transparent, accountable and equitable education system.
