Leaders of CPI, CPI(M) and CPI(ML) today had a brief meeting at Charu Bhawan, the central office of CPI(ML) in Delhi to exchange notes on the present situation. Comrades D Raja, Rama Krushna Panda and Dr. Girish from CPI, Comrades M A Baby and Arun Kumar from CPI(M) and Comrades Dipankar Bhattacharya, Ravi Rai, Sanjay Sharma, Sucheta De, Shweta Raj and Prabhat Chaudhary from CPI(ML) participated in the exchange. The leaders payed homage to Comrade Charu Mazumdar on his 54th martyrdom anniversary.
The three communist parties welcomed the significant victory achieved by the youth movement through the historic Jantar Mantar protests and congratulated student-youth activists of Left student organisations and the CJP for the courage, creativity and determination with which they braved police repression and forced the Modi government on the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. BJP governments everywhere must be made to honour the Jantar Mantar amnesty agreement and stop every witch hunt against activists of the student-youth movement. The spirit of the Jantar Mantar resistance will have to be carried forward to secure effective reforms in the education and examination system and the rights to secure and dignified employment.
The three parties also agreed to develop closer coordination on trade union, farmer and rural labour and women's fronts on the urgent agenda of defending the people's interests against imperialist offensive and corporate plunder, securing economic relief for the working people and immediate implementation of 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. The parties also stressed the need to step up mutual coordination and cooperation against the fascistic offensive of the Sangh brigade and BJP-led double engine governments.
