On April 28, AISA along with other progressive organisation of Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi joined together to reject the programme held by RSS under the title of Yuva Kumbh. Across universities RSS holds these programmes with the same banner, claiming a legacy of 100 years of nation-building and progress at the time spreading communalism and mob violence against Muslims!
AISA Jamia Unit in a statement said that RSS who took no role in the freedom movement and even collaborated openly with the British colonisers today is distributing the card of nationalism only in order to consolidate its power. Our legacy of martyrs and freedom fighters fought for the democratic, secular India that stands united against the RSS today, whether in Jamia or beyond.
AISA condemns the open invitation extended to the RSS to openly hold a programme by the Jamia administration which refuses any progressive organisation or group to hold any programmes which speaks about education and democracy. The RSS and its communal agenda which divides the nation must have no place in Jamia Millia Islamia or any other university in India.
